The European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) is a community of experts from machine and component manufacturers, experts from the food industry, research institutes and health authorities.

The organization was founded in 1989 to raise awareness of hygiene in the processing and packaging of food.

Rehfuss has also been a member of EHEDG since 2017 and, when developing products for hygienic applications (smooth motors, stainless steel motors, stainless steel gears, etc.), follows the EHEDG guidelines and thus the requirements for the “hygienic design” of systems and machines in the food industry.
